In Vitro Anti Tubercular Activity and Physicochemical Standardization of Selected Medicinal Plant Extracts

Globally tuberculosis is a major health problem. The main question with the current treatment adverse effects and drug resistance. present study aimed to identify safe effective alternative herbal drugs for of tuberculosis. This involves standardization selected medicinal plant extracts in vitro antitubercular activity. Based on literature survey, four were i.e. Glycyrrhiza glabra (Yastimadhu), Piper longum (Pippali), Curcuma longa (Haridra) Adhatoda vasica (Vasaka). To evaluate authenticity quality control aspect, chromatographic fingerprinting physicochemical analysis carried out. Quantification phytomarkers was analyzed by High performance liquid chromatography anti-mycobacterial activity performed agar well diffusion method Mycobacterium smegmatis. All necessary parameters found comply specified limits. Extracts authenticated qualitative High-performance thin layer comparison suitable raw herbs phytomarkers. showed that contains 10 % Glycyrrhizin, 7 Piperine, 82.41 Curcumin 2.3 Vasicine.
